I recieved a phone call at my job from man with a middle eastern accent. He told me his name was Craig and that he was informing me that he had yet to hear from myself or my attorney. He then went on to state that there were three charges against me (gave me the last 4 #'s of my ss #) and stated that at 5 pm a warrent would be down loaded to my local pd for my arrest. When I asked what he was talking about he stated that I had recieved money from united cash advance which he stated was deposited into my checking acct. (he knew the #) When I asked what the charges were he stated violation of the federal check something, theft by deception and fraud. When I asked him when and how much money I had recieved he stated that he was unable to disclose that information, as that was their incriminating evidence against me. He told me that I should know that information since I was the one that took their money and was running off. He then stated that the local police department would arrive at my place of work to arrest me in the morning. (knew my employers address), He then terminated the call. I immidiatly called my financial instituion and called the police department. There were never any credits to my account however I did find a $30 fee from payment protection. There was an 800 # attached to the withdrawal. When I called the # I was put through to a voice mail. I then reported this to the police dpt. which had no record of any warrents for my arrest. I was so upset and scared. I had to close my accounts and cancell my debit card all becose of this. How many people a day do they scam and get money out of? They are a shameful bunch of people to do such a horrible thing. I will be going forward and filling formal complaints with the better business buroe and may take leagal action for harrasment and fraudulant claims, mabye event attempted theft by deception. They chose the wrong woman to mess with. Karma is a wonderful thing and they will get theirs.
