US Wings
US Wings Liars Hudson, Ohio
13th of Jun, 2011 by User337697
This is my experience with one of the worst mail order companies (in regard to ethics, attitude, and honesty) that I've ever dealt with...it's a copy of complaint that I sent to the Ohio Attorney General Office in 2010: On MAY 4TH I ordered sunglasses from this company via their website. On May 14th I inquired via email into the status of the order and received the following from Myke Redpath at US Wings:
"There was a delay in them shipping. The sunglasses will ship on Monday for you and a tracking number will be forwarded Thank You, Myke Redpath" ...... I then contacted them on the 14th and the 17th, as I did not receive any tracking number or delivery, I received the following on the 17th: (Myke R. US Wings to me)
"These shipped for you. I will pull a tracking number in the morning for you." Then on May 21 I received the following (after again inquiring): From LisaS: "Thank you for your order to www.uswings.com The following items are not in stock but have been placed on back order for you; OP52B ORIGINAL PILOT SUNGLASSES, 52MM, BLACK Your merchandise is expected to arrive at our warehouse in: JUNE 23, 2010 ............... " This is the only response I ever received about these being out of stock --after 3 weeks of being told that they were already shipped and on their way to me.
I then sent an email cancelling the order, and asked for a refund. This was on May 21. I received no response from the company at all.
My wife then telephoned the company and was told that a refund would be sent in 48 hours.
On May 30th I still had no refund appear on my credit card statement (from the card that I used to purchase the item with)...so sent an email asking wether they intended to refund my money or not? Again, I received no response...
So I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Akron Ohio.
On June 1st I received the following email from them: "Your refund was issued, in the amount of $54.90. We received a letter from the Better Business Bureau today stating that US Wings is deceitful, unlawful in business practices. We are hereby notifying you that this letter has been forwarded to our attorney (John Tarantino, President of APS Law.com) Please advise youir attorneys that a lawsuit will be forthcoming. Thank You, Myke Redpath .........................." Apparantley they had refunded my money - but on a card that I had not used for internet purchases for nearly a year. I do not know why it was refunded to this card and why I was not informed or asked about using another credit card (suppose this card was destroyed?!) I informed the BBB that a refund had been made, but did inqire into the threats (of lawsuits) that they were making to me...they were unable to assist me in this, as my complaint was made in regard to receiving my refund and it had been made. ................. The company in turn made false statements to the Better Business Bureau...among which they claimed that they had notified me by telephone about the out of stock item. Which is ludricrous - as Mike Redpath's emails clearly show that he was lying to me and telling me this item was shipped and on it's way out to me, not once, but twice. Also we had NEVER recieved a telephone call or message from this company. We have checked our Voice Mail and Missed Call lists from the times they claimed they had contacted us and there are no messages from them, and none of their phone numbers (from their website or emails) appear there. They also accused me of being a liar, and being slanderous; which particularly infuriates me as it comes from people who seem to use lies and deceits as a mode of business. They again, also threatened me with a lawsuit of "great magnitude". This company lied to me, stalled me (telling me a product was already shipped to me, when in fact it would not be available for 6 additional weeks), neglected to inform me of important imformation regarding my money - and accused me of things of which they are guilty. They also had the gall to ultimately place the item on sale (on their website), when they still did not have it available. They made false statements to the BBB - accusing me of things that they were guilty of (lying, slander, etc), and made empty threats in an attempt to (I guess) scare me. I feel their methods of doing business are highly unethical, if not illegal-- and many of their practises seem to resemble bait and switch, combined with stalling tactics. Their response to the Attorney General (from some other liar named Ashley or Amber - I don't remember) was equally full of lies, deceits, and false accusations. They do continue to mail me sales flyers, which they must think is cute (or they are just really ignorant and stupid). This is a fully disgusting company (lying and cheating instruction must be part of their training program)...and anyone would be foolish to do business with them. Most of their products can be found elsewhere, through reputable dealers, and often at lower prices (like the above mentioned sunglasses for instance).
