|I made the mistake of ordering Walkfit orthodoics off an 800 number advertised on the Walkfit infomercial. It was a totally automated ordering system. At the end of the order, they joyfully informed me that because of my order I would happily receive a months worth of joint supplement absolutely free! And I would receive these supplements monthly for the rest of my life UNLESS I cancelled. There was no choice option to take it or refuse it!|
I then I received the orthodics about a week later (5 came in a pack). Rather than state the sizes on the outside, there were letters which I then had to decipher which ones were which. The orthodics also do not look like what they show on TV. They only fit in half the shoe/ hard plastic which never work since they slide all over your shoe.
Then I looked at the invoice. In addition to being charged the 19.95 apiece I was charged 49.95 for shipping and handling! These 5 orthodicscame together in one small package!
I called the customer service number which must go directly to India as no one is a native english speaking person. I asked the first person about this additional charge, which by the way is not clear on the invoice. He said it was for the supplements!I disputed that immediately! he hung up on me.
I called back and got another non - English speaking person. I asked for an English speaking person, he kept saying what can I do for you over and over. I then asked for a manager and got the same message over and over. Finally, I resigned myself to dealing with this guy. I asked about the overcharging, said I was not willing to pay that amount.He told me it was a ship fee, not for the supplements. I told him I was willing to pay a reasonable ship fee but not 50! He left the line to supposedly talk to a manager.When hecame back on andhe acted like hecould no longer hear me and hung up!
I finally called my credit card company to dispute the charge. My representative called Walkfit to negotiate the huge shipping fee into something reasonable. Walkfit dropped it to $25.00 which is still too high for what it really costs but I was willing to accept that amount.
They've said it will take 5-7 business days to credit back. We will see! And also we'll see if they send me another month of those stupid supplements and charge me for them. If they do, I will go back to my credit card company again and dispute.
In summary, go to the store for orthodic inserts. Walk Fits are not what they advertise at all! You won't get charged those outrageous shipping charges! you won't receive a lifetime supply of unordered and unwanted joint support supplements! And best of all, you won't have to deal with foreign speaking scamming, "customer NO service" reps!
