WALMART AUTOMOTIVE DEPARTMENT : Lied and said they changed my oil and didn't! Ft Worth, Texas
5th of Jan, 2012 by User718040
I went to the Wal-Mart Automotive department recently to have my oil changed. Well, I knew something was funny when #1 they didn't even ask me what oil change service I would like, and #2 after they were "done" with my car, the man who "changed" the oil said "You already had about half amount of oil in there" and that was it....so I left there thinking, "so did you actually change it or not?" because I actually paid for it so I would sure hope so!! Well 1 and 1/2 months later my car starts making this clicking noise. My husband listens to it and decides to check the oil, BONE DRY!!!!!! This was 1 and a half months after I had my "oil changed"!!!! So my husband immediately takes it to Wal-mart, which wasn't the original one we had gone to the first time to have the oil changed, and it was a little after 7:00 and they were closed. We were lucky and the automotive manager, was still there and even though it was past 7:00, he stayed to help my husband check the oil again, and what did the automotive service manager say?? "WOW, THAT IS BONE DRY". He even looked at the sticker they put in your car after each oil change, just to make sure we were up to date and saw that we were. He apologized for the other location's mess up and said he would make some phone calls to the store manager in the White Settlement location and would get us a free oil change and said they would be liable for any damages and assured us that there were cameras in the service garage. He was very helpful and repeatedly apologized for the other store's mistake. Well the next morning, my husband went to the location who screwed up/failed to do the oil change, and they said they would have to file a claim with their insurance before they were able to do anything with it....No sorry for the inconvience, nothing. Finally a couple of weeks later, a man by the name of TRAVIS GATES, CASE MANAGER II from CMI, CLAIMS MANAGEMENT, INC. and leaves my husband a message asking me to call him back. The next day, my husband calls him back as he had the day off and I was working. No answer. My husband leaves a message asking him to call him back....a few days had gone by, nothing. So, my husband calls TRAVIS again and leaves yet another message, this time telling him it was very important he call him back asap as there may be damage to our vehicle....about 5 days go by and still no call back. So I decide to call this TRAVIS character and had to leave yet ANOTHER MESSAGE asking him to call me back....4 or 5 days later, still no call back. So by now, as expected, I was pretty upset over the whole deal so I call TRAVIS back AGAIN and this time, left him a message asking him to either call me back, or let me know who I needed to speak with as this case was not being handled. On TRAVIS' voicemail he stated he was currently unavailable, but we could call his associate if it was an emergency. So I call this man (I cannot remember his name at this time, but I will find out) and had to leave him ANOTHER MESSAGE!!!!!! No returned call. So, 3 weeks later, my husband calls this TRAVIS again and of course he was "unavailable" (must be nice to not ever have to work) so he calls his "associate" and leaves him ANOTHER message. Well the associate finally calls my husband back, with attitude, and informs my husband that "we reviewed the tapes and they did change the oil, so walmart cannot be held liable for any damages". My husband is very irritated at this point and asks this "associate" if he can review the tape himself and the man tells my husband "probably not, we want to repect the privacy of the employees and customers". BULL! They leave those dang garage doors WIDE OPEN all day long while servicing cars and as for the "customers" they shouldn't be in the garage at all!! Needless to say, this is FAR from over. I am very tired of people messing with people's personal items and getting away with it just because some "CASE MANAGER" who is working on behalf of Wal mart, says they have done nothing wrong! Well of course they are going to say that! We have obtained a lawyer and started the process of a lawsuit. Oh and about the little tape they are so protective of, why are they so scared to let my husband see it if they were doing what they were supposed to??? We WILL be obtaining that tape, sorry to tell him that. I have heard numerous horror stories about wal-mart's automotive center, even my sister went and had her oil changed (at a different wal mart location) and a month later, she found her oil was bone dry. I only went to walmart because I was very tired and it was on my way home. I will NEVER EVER go to that h*ll hole again! I believe that they thought just because I was a woman, I wouldn't know any better....well guess again!!
