And yet another warrentech victim arrives on this site. Oct 3 2010 reported my Sharp Aquos tv had no sound. Five-year in-home contract was still in effect and was pleased to hear a tech would be at my home to check it. After 3 days, called an was told operator made a mistake and I would have to mail the set to a repair company of their choosing. Just happened to be Orbital Electronics also in TX. On Oct 6 Orbital sent letter saying box was enroute. Whoopee! Took them three days to send the letter. What arrived about a week later had me scratching my head. But loaded up the tv in the too small, flimsy box and sent it off. After about 4 weeks, I started calling Orbital for an update. Every week they would tell me the same thing. Had to order another part and were expecting it within a week. Two weeks ago, I had the last such BS promise and called warrentech mad as hell. I wanted to know when the fishing expedition was going to be over and what they were going to replace or refund me with. Raymond assured me he would look into this and call me back that Friday (Dec 3). Today, Dec 13 - I have still not heard from Raymond. However, last Monday I called Orbital once again. This time they said they had received what they believed was the final part - the motherboard and would be installing it and testing it this week. I said I want my tv by the end of the week. Mr. Orbital told me if it tested OK they would have it in the mail Friday or Monday (Dec 6th) HA! So today (Dec 13) I call the illustrious side-stepping staff at warrentech again. They said they had heard nothing from Orbital and couldn't advise me. I said well I have and told them the latest version of the repair. She calls them and tells me that they are in the middle of the repair and will have it finished by next week. Sound familiar? I said Bull another lie uncovered! I have heard this every week and it sounds so convincing I just want to say OK but low and behold, the week will pass and there will be some other problem. I want the drop dead date right now. So I'm waiting for one of their supervisors to call me back. Should I hold my breath. Nah. But I will do what everyone else has and file a complaint with the BBB. I certainly hope the staff from Warrentech and Orbital are reading this so they can get an idea of what your customers think of you. I'm going to look up Orbital's record while I'm at it. Now there's real competence for ya. I get to send my in-home contracted warranty TV half way across the US where it sits for over two months with no end in sight. Beware people - they'll fix it, when they damn well feel like it.
