Baymont Inn and Suites Dirty, deceptive, indifferent Wilmington, Ohio

We reserved two suites together, both for meetings, on first floor because one guest is handicapped. Was told by the 800 reservationist that the suites are AAA and if they could not get us rooms on the first floor, we could use the elevator to go up to the second.
We arrived around 9:30 PM very tired. The female clerk never greeted us, after checking us in, she said our rooms were on second floor. I asked about the elevator and she said that they do not have one. I told her my partner had a heart condition and could not climb stairs. She did not assist us in any way.
We had to climb the stairs to the non smoking rooms that smelled of smoke in the hallway and inside the rooms. No one carried his bags, even though he was disabled. I carried all of our bags up the stairs.
We got in our rooms to find it dirty and the beginning of the room was cluttered with bathroom, tiny sink outside bathroom, bed one step away. Had to squeeze between desk, bureau and bed to get to the other side of the room with wide open space and a whirlpool tub. We were meeting professionals, not hookers!
I had to put towels on the floor to walk over the filthy carpet and floor.
We were too tired to leave so stayed the night.
In the morning I asked the Manager on duty to change to clean rooms with meeting areas and he told me that I already had them. I told him that a whirlpool tub would not help but he shrugged and walked away. I called Hampton Inn and reserved two rooms on the spot. We checked out and raced to Hampton Inn where we got more than everything for one dollar more per room.
I complained via email to Baymont Headquarters and got an apology along with a note saying the manager would call me from Wilmington. When he did call, a week after they said he would, he finally offered me at 15% discount. I told him that it was not enough since the room was disgusting. Again, with indifference, he said that was the best he could do. I will never to to another Baymont Inn.
