Abel Clapton called my cell phone one day and told me he was with an Investigations company and he was calling to collect a debt I had with United Cash Loans. I told him I was unable to pay the money on the day he had scheduled and he, in turn, threatened to have my matter taken to court and the $600 amount I owed would escalate to over $2,000. Since I had and have not been in any legal situations, I didn' want this payday loan to be the reason I go to court.
I made a payment arrangement to have the balanced paid. I made the first payment of $223. That was dumb! I called United Cash Loans and asked them if they were familiar with an Abel Clapton and if their company was affiliated with Investigations.
The lady asked me if the guy had an accent and I said he did. She then told me that they are a scam and not affiliated with them. I came across this website after I googled Abel's name.
After speaking with the lady at UCL, I have since then had to cancel my debit card and change my cell number. Whenever I would call the number Abel gave me, his brother's and cousin's would answer the phone and call me a "bitch.''
He contacted me again, today, after not hearing from him for over a month. When I tried to call him back, a man answered saying his name was, "ummmm,' he then said again, "this is, ummmm." Isn't that strange. I would like to be refunded for the $223 I gave to Abel and I warn everybody not to take out a payday loan. Just suck it up and wait till payday.
