crown homes didnt return earnest money augusta, Georgia

My wife and I put up 500.00 hundred dollars for earnest money to purchase a House in Augusta GA. from Crown Homes in the belief that they were looking out for our best intrest. We then realized that in our efforts to try and take our time to review this Companies credentials and keep from getting over our heads with a montly payments they were pressuring us to move foward asap. They were constantly telling us the interest rate would go up and telling us that we could have a house that was used as a model fixed up and ready within trhee months. This was a five bedroom 4 bath fully loaded Model home therefore their wasnt a garage because they were using it for office space. We were told that that would be changed anyway but if we wanted it they would leave it we told them no we would rather have a garage ming you we had only that one day to go forward with the earnest money to lock in the intrest rate. We did what we thought at the time was right, but realized we were in above our heads with what the monthly payments and the finding out about all of the bad reviews of Crown. Therefore we decided to sign a lease termination agreement and pull out. Well to make a long story short they then refused to give us back our earnest money by telling us because they had to turn the office into a garage they kept the earnest money when thats what they would have done anyhow.
