| Disney Disney Gift Cards Scammed me out of 1700$ deceptive practice wrong info Burbank, California |

| This is a mess. I learned a store was selling Disney gift cards in incriments of $50. While in store I called their phone number on the back and inquired of using these for theme park admission and Disney Vacation packages. I was told yes. Since my husband was an employee of this store selling these we got 20% off purchases between employee discount and one other discount we can stack. Checked the cost of a package and it was $1600 give or take. We called the gift card line again to reconfirm we could use these on a vacation package and again told yes. We then asked even if we had 32 cards to use and Anne said YES use as many as you want. Again to reconfirm I called back spoke to Sharon and got the same answer. I never trust one person when getting advice due to being burned in the past. I went to the store asked if I could just put it all on one card and the employee said no. So Using my discount I could save $320 which would have paid for food/gifts/ whatever. I used my credit card to purchase 32 of these at this store. I paid $1280 total. (seriously this may sound stupid but it was hard enough to save $1600 towards our vacation at that point with the economy). I wrote a check to my cc company to pay back my credit card to avoid interst charges. I come home from the store with the cards and book my vacation. I get to payment and it lets me put in my first gift card number. But after that $50 applies, it says I can't use anymore gift cards. So I was given wrong information. Needless to say hours on the phone, transfers to departments that can't answer any questions or has any clue, I finally get a supervisor in the gift card department named Anthony. I was not mean but very frustrated and I spoke to him with respect. He proceeds to tell me they will "listen" to the calls to verify information. I would receive a follow up in 24-48 hours. How is this fixing anything? The store is refusing to take the gift cards back due to scams out there, the "guest services" department is now closed until Monday morning, and their "leave a message" option is down for the weekend. I can't get any help, stuck with $1600 worth of gift cards I can't use for our vacation. due to one department wanting more money for disney, they give you wrong information to obtain money and then it be wrong info and I'm out the money and can't go on vacation now. I am not planning on spending $1600 in merchandise and/or food either, that is WAY over my limit. We are totally screwed and its not fair at all. Disney acts like I'm lying and I would never ever have done this if they didn't tell me that and I could make the vacation a little better by saving an extra $300 PLUS dollars! Anyone need to buy disney gift cards? Apparently I have a ton for sale! |
