Doba Doba misleads people with their |

Doba's home page clearly states that they offer a "7-day trial" which I signed up for on the evening of May 10th. However, when I went to cancel my subscription because I found the service sucked and did not offer any really good profitable products, I discovered that I had already been charged before the 7-days was up. They charged me on afternoon of the 17th and so I did not receive a full 7 days. They state that in their agreement it says that the day you sign up is a full day no matter if you sign up at 12:01am or 11:59pm. But in their advertising, there is not even an asterisk to warn clients. So, basically they are are being deceptive and conducting false advertising. Without even providing an asterisk or a "terms and conditions" link that are banking on the fact that people will get confused and then not report them. Because no matter where one lives on this planet are seven days not equal to 168 hours or 10,080 minutes or 604,800 seconds. Seven days is not 6.25 days or 9,000 minutes or 540,000 seconds. And frankly, with all of the complaints that Doba has received at the BBB and on sites like RipoffReport.com, I am baffled as to how you consistently give them an A+ review and allow them to be Accredited. I find their BBB rating to be shocking! Furthermore, during their not so 7 day "7 Day trial", they provide a link to cancel. However, as soon as you become a member, that link disappears and you have to call in during business hours. Today, I called and had to wait on hold for 20 minutes before I could get through to a lady that did cancel my account but refuse to refund my money or let me talk to a supervisor about getting a refund. So basically, I spent $119 for a service through which I never placed an order but had a hard time cancelling. They say I never called but I did try three times to get through to someone at the number provided to cancel. But they have not record of those calls because I never got through to someone. Twice I got disconnected and the third time I had to go to a meeting after waiting 15 minutes. Even today, when I called to try to get my money back, the representative said that "we haven't even received an email request to cancel" inferring that I could have sent an email to cancel. However, on this page http://www.doba.com/members/help it clearly states that they cannot cancel a membership via email or chat. (I will attach an image of this page if I can) Furthermore, on May 22nd, a supervisor from Doba, called me to try to sell another service to me. I told him how displeased I was with their service and he lead me to believe that he was cancelling my account. The lady I spoke with today says that I gave me an 800 number to call but I do not remember that at all. Basically, I just want my money back for a service that I never purchased anything through. If I do not receive a full refund of all monies paid within the next 30 days, I will report Doba to the State Attorneys of both California and Utah for investigation. Furthermore, I will be posting warnings on sites like RipoofReport.com to help others. If Doba refunds my money, I will be happy to make a note of that on my reports. |
