Jerrica Marketing Smart Circle International (Parent Company) Legalized Pyramid Scheme Maitland, Florida
20th of Jan, 2011 by User532382
I worked for Jerrica Marketing for 3 months before deciding to finally give up and get a real job at AT&T selling phones but getting paid per hour, so when there are slow days like today I can write bad reports on places like: "Jerrica Marketing," which is just a name for "your company" that you are awarded after many years of un-adulterated blind loyal service to the demigod of retail marketing, whom escaped from Hades in recent decades due to devil worship and Satanism.

That evil spirit started a corporation and it is called: Smart Circle International, which has managed to set up its borderline pyramid scheme in many countries, and has THOUSANDS of "marketing" branches around the country usually all named "______ Marketing" or "______ Events" which makes it sound enticing to young people eager to enter the professional business world.

The primary focus of Smart Circle international is to sell the stuff people are having trouble selling. For example, Best Buy employees aren't really qualified to sell DirecTv or have too much in their hands doing day-to-day store operations to actively try and sell a product so in the background like satellite television, divorcing loyal customers of cable, which isn't easy. Both DirecTv and Best Buy want to push their DirecTv sales and Smart Circle international steps in and creates a demand for these products by manufacturing zombies who are able to recite a script like a TV commercial and present it to people face to face 100x a day. The problem with doing this is that after 50 people tell you no, (and some will run away from you) You start realizing that the Red Bull you drank put you at negative $2.49 after working 8 hours and selling nothing. You might think you can cope with rejection, but unless you are a Jedi and you can wave your hand and magically sell 3 DirecTv's a day everyday for a year so you don't starve or have a fluctuating income.

Fortunately, one out of every 1,000,000 people do have this magical gift of selling in obscene amounts, and these are the people who become the "Managers." Entrusted with a "Corporation" of their own so they can put "CEO" on their business cards and go through a mill of new hires every month, mostly making money out of volume of different people trying to sell something that is actually kinda hard to sell. Because there is that one in 1,000,000 chance that you are that person I guess is what prevents these people from being shut down by hiring naive college graduates with no experience.

Some of the other products this company sells are kitchen appointments and remodels for Home Depot, cosmetics, spa packages, car wash packages, vacation packages, charity donations (not kidding), and usually market themselves in Florida as an auto glass repair company. (which they are not) I have even seen a Smart Circle company advertise in Careerbuilder as "Looking for Windshield Repair Man" but in reality, they are hiring people to sell windshield repairs - which are actually FREE - in Florida, your insurance pays for windshield repair for free from any damage. You can call your insurance and use any windshield repair place you like. What Smart Circle has done is cut a deal with a couple of these windshield repair places, the biggest ones around, get an army of stupid college kids to advertise for them and send them clientele in volume, and then in return the windshield places pay Smart Circle a cut out of every windshield installed (which insurance pays for), and then in turn pay the Manager of your branch, the Manager of HIS branch, the MANAGER OF HIS BRANCH so on and so forth and whatever is left they pay you. Top managers make money of other people in their branch who become managers, and thus you have a Pyramid Scheme errr sort of. They're "Managers" and "CEOs" and every branch of the Pyramid is essentially incorporated independently, owned by the "Manager" creating a smoke screen of 'different' companies but in reality they are all one big monster: Smart Circle. I did a little research on the company and found a lot of managers in the area became D.A.R.E. officers, probably so they can get a nice poster or something:

This is the link and the names of some of the managers in the area so you can identify their shady Careerbuilder ads:

It gives the names of several of these "Marketing" branches.

On top of that, I did not get paid for 2 DirecTV orders. Rich Patterson claims he did, but I didn't I had to chase checks 2 months after quitting - at least I did get a W2 at the end of the year from them, prepared by the secretary. The secretary at these marketing companies the only real employee. Aside from the electricity, water, and rent, this employee is the only real expense of this "corporation." She writes everyone's checks, checks in everyone's orders. It doesn't cost anything to hire anyone because if you don't sell, you don't get paid. Rich Patterson of course gets rich by recycling employees every month, usually two paychecks - is what it takes for most people to bolt, probably because they need to eat and probably spent more money "working" than they made. One thing is for sure, everyone is nice to you. I did like the positive winning vibe the place gives and I love the inspirational meetings in the morning. If this place sold marijuana or cigarettes it would be the best place in the world to work. You would never run out of customers and people here would actually make money. If you could make a living working for Jerrica Marketing it would be one of the best jobs you could have. You are essentially left alone the whole day, only to report your numbers to your boss. There is no limit to the amount of breaks you can take (or not take) and there is nobody watching you making sure you don't screw up, although if you are in stores like Home Depot and Best Buy you would be required to at least not look like your slacking off so that you don't get in "trouble" but I doubt you can get fired from this job unless you steal something from a store, harass a girl sexually, or smoke a joint inside of the Best Buy. If you live with your parents, have no time to lose, you get an allowance and you want to regular work experience that at least *looks* decent on your resume, go ahead and work here.

If you need real money to pay real bills and you can't "Always Be Closing" the most random products in the planet people aren't ready to buy impulsively without talking to their spouse first, then don't work here!!!
