LowCountry Van Lines
lowcountry van lines low country van lines Is this whole thing a fraud? Dania Beach, Florida
5th of Apr, 2011 by User738876
I used one of moving company to move my stuff from Tampa, FL to Maplewood, MN, its name is LowCountry van lines (I think their other business name is Low Country Van lines; BBB ranking is +B. Both companies have the same website: http://lowcountryvanlines.com). When I was getting a quote, the company sounded reasonable and promised to pick up my stuff at 10 AM on March 19th. Also, the company explained that my stuff weighs less than 3000 lbs/cf, I would get the flat fee $1,200. But, what really happened was they came 4 hours late to the pick-up place (showed up at 2 PM) and they charged me extra $126.80 except for the additional packing materials ($85, I understand that I need to pay this money) because I had more stuff than quoted items. In addition to this unexpected overcharge, I have been waiting for my stuff delivered to my new APT more than 2 weeks (from March 19th to today; April 6th), but I have no idea where the truck driver is. I have contacted to two people, one is Frank who gave me a quote and initiated a contract and the other is Yulanda who is in the customer service center and is in charge in my case. They both kept saying that they were calling the trucker to collect their location and would call me back. NEVER HAPPEN! One time (it was Thursday, March 31st), I called Yulanda to ask about how things go, she excused me that she couldnt open my file due to the computer system down. Afternoon, I gave her a call again and her colleague excused me that her husband got heart attack again so that she left two hours early. But, she answered my phone on Friday morning, sounding like nothing happened. She again promised to call me back, but she didnt. And then they changed their phone number. I used my cell and my office phone to get them on the phone, because they seemed to avoid my phone call. I tracked my phone history when I made a phone call to them. I really hope they dont scam me and would receive my stuff safely soon. Company name: LowCountry van lines (http://www.lowcountryvanlines.com)
Phone number: 866-326-3186
Customer Representative: Frank (phone: 866-242-8313, email: [email protected])
Customer service center Representative: Yulanda (phone: 866-326-3186 or 954-924-1126)
Adress: 9309 Moreto Cr, Summerville, SC 29485
US DOT: 1993851, MC: 704814
Claim 1: LowCountry van lines picked up my stuff on March 19th 2011 and hasnt delivered yet (todays date is April 6th). Its been 19 days.
Claim 2: The Company has performed very bad communication with me. They never gave me a trace of a truck driver location and never gave me a call back.
Claim 3: They overcharged me unlike their promise.
Desirable resolution: I want my stuff to be delivered soon.

This company will take your money and make your life miserable. Please you have nothing to lose but everything to gain by using a more reputable company. The low prices this company quotes is a complete hoax, and it will end up being much more than that. Also, although they give you a "a binding estimate" which you electonically sign which has a policy for delivery time, they will force you to sign a bill of lading with fine print on the back of it that says they have 30 days to deliver. Keep in mind this bill of lading will not be presented to you to sign until after your stuff has been loaded onto a truck. Additionaly, the extra price over the estimate will be given to you after you belongings are on the truck. Basically, from beginning to end, they will try to trick you into an expensive nightmare. On top of that, the office idiot is Yolanda Medina, who honestly might be the most ignorant and uncaring person I have ever met. Finally, they will tell you these reviews are from rival companies, but you have to ask yourself is it worth the risk. If you cannot trust my review, can you trust a moving company

BEWARE, the owner keith will try and tell everyone the negative reviews are ex employees, he is lying. They picked my things up from Tampa on 9/27, with a delivery date of NO LATER than 10/4 going to ATL. they never showed, rarely answered the phone, and would tell me every weekend that it would be there the next. My stuff finally arrived on 10/21. The man instisted the night before that he deliver my stuff at 1pm, so I made arrrangements for work. He didt show until 5:30. He was obviously very disgruntled from the begining. He couldnt find the apartment complex and when I couldnt understand his broken english over the radio in the background he got frustrated and screamed at me. Whatever, I just wanted my things. he got here and promptly let me know that he is contracted by low country and they are not paying him enough so if I ever wanted my things back I would pay him an ADDITIONAL 200 dollars more than what I owed him. When I refused he tried to leave with my things. I physically had to BLOCK him with my body from leaving and called 911. The police came and the guy lied and said he had been waitig all day for me and that I needed to give him a waiting fee. He was finally talked into moving my things and he dumped all my crap in the middle of the livingroom, broke my bed and dresser, and didnt unpackage or unload anything. Im a 125 pound girl living by myself. I had to move all my furniture by myself. I have pictures of the injuries that I sustained having to do this. I am bruised EVERYWHERE, i can barely move. My hands are bleeding. As soon as I get the energy I will be sueing EVERYONE..What kind of piece of shit would put me through that. I just finished college, Im next to broke, I cant afford to be extorted. The only reason I got movers is because my furniture is so heavy and i got stuck moving it anyway. my e-mail is [email protected] if anyone is interested in discussing some sort of class action lawsuit
