National Diabetes Association
National Diabetes Association repeated unwanted phone calls Internet
3rd of Jul, 2011 by User582156
I initially contacted these people for information on diabetic supplies. At first, they tried to push me to buy supplies from them. I told them I wanted something in writing first so I could see more information about them and what they offered. They had my phone number from my initial inquiry. They refused to give me a return phone number, or to send anything in writing. Since that time, they have repeatedly called my home phone, sometimes two and three times a day, even though I told them from day one that I was no longer interested since they would not send me materials in writing. I have threatened to sue, threatened to report them to legal authorities, repeatedly told them to lose my telephone number and both my wife and daughter have told them the same thing. Today, I received yet another call. I recognized the voice as a woman with whom I had spoken to before and told not to call here ever again. No matter what I do, I cannot seem to get them to stop calling. I reported them to the telephone company, who advised me if the calls continued to file a police report so that they could put a trace on the call. The police tell me that without that phone call, they cannot take a report. I am at my wits end as to how to rid myself of these people.

I have been experiencing the same thing for about 4 months. They call from different countries and sometimes different states. Sometimes the numbers are listed, sometimes they are unavailable. All in all, this is very frustrating.I started out being nice and polite to them, but that ended about 3 weeks ago. I have tried yelling at them, threatening to report them, and just hanging up. They seem to know that someone in my house is a diabetic and they will not let go. The other day I answered and they identified themselves. I then set the phone down on the counter and just checked back every few minutes to see if they were still there. They finally hung up. That got rid of them for 2 days. I am going to continue to do that. Might as well have their number charged and keep them busy so they can't harass others. Please post if you find something that works.

This is happening to me, but the only thing is that I am NOT a diabetic! They keep calling and asking for someone named Melody Caudle, and I'm not Melody Caudle. And Never have been Melody Caudle! I don't understand. I don't know anyone named Melody Caudle, and they Won't stop calling. They would call me up to 5 times a day, almost. I finally talked to this really nice guy, and asked him who it was calling and where they were calling from. Usually the calls would come from cities in my state, places that i've never been before. But if i called the number back, it would be unavailable... The man told me that he was calling from Florida, and that they link their call with the towers near where I live at, and that's where the unavailable numbers come from.. I asked him to take my number off the list because I had no idea who this Melody Caudle woman was, and I'm not a diabetic! I do believe he did, because it quit for about a month... But I got a new call yesterday...And that woman was NOT friendly... :|

THIS IS A SCAM!! I just received a call and no one here has diabetes. When I told them so they hung up on me!! So I did a little research and found out their modus operandi...

Sure, they'll send you free medical supplies if you supply your S.S./Medicare number but that's because they overcharge Medicare, send out more supplies than you need and we the taxpayers all pay. It's called Medicare Fraud. They prey upon our elderly and sick Americans.
