I went comparison shopping today for mattresses because I just bought a home. I had an advertised price, that I produced for the salesman for the product I sought out to purchase. When I first arrived, he explained that no one can beat there prices because the policy is printed on the wall. They are to find a comparable product and sell it for 20% less than the invoice, or the advertised price or its FREE. I spent about an hour in the store, trying several products that where not really comparable. After realizing that I had a great price from Mattress Warehouse, he told me to just go buy it there. He said the exact match had to be what I got from them in order to honor that policy. I spoke to several other Sleepy's stores, and found that is just not true. There is even a report on this consumer sight(112 of them total) that said "they finally gave him a comparable, not exact match. The Ceo finally contacted that gentleman to right the wrong. So after doing my homework, here I am. I just want what I was told when I walked in the door. Since he was not willing to beat the sale price of my product, Sleepy's owes me the value. So I paid 1599.00 plus tax at the other store. The salesman seem to insist that I go to Crystal City or buy it from the other store. Driving to another city cost me more money. That is not in the policy to send people elsewhere.
