Citimortgage and associates have sent us numerous notices "we owe" "we owe" but do not have the minimum respect in answering our request for "a letter" explaining where we were late if we were?! No just a barrell full of computer generated mail and calls and e-mails to call as we can not even log in to our account ???? They so far have ruined our credit and don't have any talk about adjusting our current interest rate of 6.5% ?!?! They received there bailout money and are still on the dole for contributions from us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently refinanced with Citi Mortgage 1/10/2013. 5 months later I am informed that they have determined that my property is now in a flood zone according to a recent revision of a FEMA map. My property - a small portion of the back lot is now rated AE but my house is several feet above the base elevation.
Citi purchased a flood insurance policy for $2088 per year without my kinowledge or authorization. They notified that my new payment would increase $410 per month to cover the escrow shortage created by the flood insurance policy they obtained.
I obtained the same coverage from my insurance agent for $346 per year.
question : How can Citi purchase a flood insurance policy and charge me for the amount ?? and what recourse do I have to prevent anything similiar to this in the future. Please share your thoughts- attorney general? Consumer fraud?
